To ensure all committee members represent the student body efficiently and correctly, as well as acting in a professional manner during their time in office we have created a code of conduct. As a registered charity this will ensure we follow all regulations and the longevity and safeguard of the society can be secured for many years.
This is being done to ensure the student body has trust and confidence in the committee. Please email us at [email protected] if you wish to see a copy of this code of conduct. To celebrate our 120th year anniversary, we will be holding a dinner with current students, alumni and staff. The event is open to all our members and will be a great event for students to mingle with staff. Past and current members of the society will be given speeches and presentations along with some great food and drink.
We will be selling tickets shortly so keep an eye out. We have worked closely with the Dean to confirm that this year we will be introudcing for the first time ever a 'Student of the Year' award. This will be used to enhance students portfolios, which is chosen by the Dental Society to reward those who have done a credible contribution in the wider community and achived somehint great in the past year.

We have received a great numbers of applications for the Dental Society Newsletter, which is taking a new format this year. With three sections to update you on News, Social aspects of the Dental Society and a Special Feature section, we are sure you will be kept in the loop for all major incidents through the year.
We will shortly be announcing your newsletter team. Every year we hear that students are unhappy with lectures not being supplied. The Dental Society is actively taking this issue into our own hands and try to alleviate this problem. We have been speaking to our sponsors and have agreed to team up to print lectures for at least one module, for all years from 1-5. Watch this space for more updates to follow.
