Smile & Baking Soc
I’m currently the publicity & media officer for KCL Smile Society, a student-run charity which focuses on informing the local community about child oral hygiene and dental health.
This is done mainly through visits to different schools in the surrounding area and teaching classes of children there about the oral hygiene essentials — from how plaque builds up on their teeth, to which sugary foods they should avoid. My role in the society is to inform the local community, through various social media outlets, about the recent studies and updates to maintaining their child’s oral health, as well as information on our various school visits and social events throughout the year.
Beyond Smile Society, I am also a regular member of KCL Baking Society, where meet to share delicious treats and baking secrets at regular social events. Pretty ironic for a dentist, but there’s something rewarding about having people delight over the deliciousness of your hard work, and being able to curb your sweet tooth also...
