ZAIN HAMEED BDS4
Aaron Gurmail Prize Winner
It is an indescribable feeling to have won the Aaron Gurmail award this year.
Currently many of us encounter daily problems, the stresses of work and exams, but there are others struggling to provide even basic food for themselves and their families. In London alone for example we encounter dozens of homeless individuals every single week. By doing outreach and showing kindness, I just hope it will inspire others to realise the endless potential that we all have, to easily help others. Most of all, it will benefit someone who really needs it an immeasurable way.
A candle never loses its light by lighting another and there is always someone out there who needs help. I strongly feel it is our responsibility, to together ensure others receive the same support and opportunities that we may do, to live happy full lives, just as many of us are blessed to be leading right now. I am incredibly grateful to the King's College London Dental School, the Dental Society and to all those who voted for this prestigious award.
It serves as a testament that we should all strive to be the best we can towards others, just as Aaron was, and that selflessness, compassion and kindness, are what contribute towards giving life a true meaning and a purpose.
Thank you all
